The New Coaching Model
不断增长的广度和深度的组织和更有效的领导和提高竞争力的需要,这个问题在你的面前,你已经有了一个相当大的挑战。
Do you or your kids play sports? Watch them? Next time you re at a game, take a long, hard look at the coaches on the sidelines. What is their role, and how are they behaving? In business, coaching has become a new buzzword. And yet, it is still largely seen as a remedial solution to solve problems in leadership. Not every organization suffers from this perspective, but it is a widespread challenge. Instead of focusing on making improvements, coaching is often used in a reactive way. But, is that the best use of a coach? Add to this issue the growing breadth and depth of organizations and the need for more effective leadership and increased competencies, and you ve got a considerable challenge in front of you. A large number of organizations are decentralized with multiple locations, mobile and virtual employees, and less bureaucratic structures in place today. While this has made accomplishing tasks a more fluid and collaborative process, it has presented a new set of problems as well, particularly among leaders, and especially within global organizations. This is where learning and leadership development needs to be focused. We look to organizational leaders to accomplish more, faster and better than ever before. We ve determined that coaching is a highly efficient way to teach skills and develop competencies, but we ve stopped short of finding cost-effective and meaningful ways to apply this development method across an organization. Part of the problem lies in the lack of clarity around organizational coaching. What is it, really? Should it be an internal or external process? Who gets it and why? How can it be best measured and assessed? And how can the perception of organizational coaching be positively changed to a proactive method of development? HCI recently partnered with Lee Hecht Harrison to conduct research on this topic and answer these very questions. There is consensus that coaching can work, but little agreement about how it should work. Next week is HCI s Learning Leadership Development conference in New York City. In spite of the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy, the conference venue did not incur any damage, and the event will be held as scheduled. There, we will explore how coaching and other leadership development activities and processes are shaping business. Hear from Lee Hecht Harrison about the challenges facing coaching today, and learn ways to address those problems. Listen to GE Healthcare about the leadership development program they rely on to cultivate up and coming high potentials, and hear from Burlington Coat Factory to determine the best ways to get senior leadership buy-in and support of learning and development initiatives, among many others. We hope to see you there as we go about solving the learning and leadership development challenges of today! 管理新知 您可能感兴趣的文章 如何做一名“激励型”管理者 2015-04-17 HR微语—人才招聘10个最高效的捷径 2012-08-08 Jobs Increased In September, But Not Enough For Much to Change 2011-10-11 最近文章 TEST 2018年01月15日 嫖娼被抓不属无故旷工,公司解雇赔4万!(法院判决) 2018年01月15日 如何判断你是否具有HRBP胜任力?
