European Economic and Social Committee Publishes Code of Conduct for Coaching and Mentoring

by Ann Pace 据PRNewswire报道,欧洲经济与社会委员和国际教练联合会共同签署了一份教练与辅导的行为准则,这将为整个教练行业提供一个重要的行业发展准则。

(From PRNewswire) -- A Code of Conduct for Coaching and Mentoring jointly prepared and submitted by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) has been published in the Self- and Co-Regulation Database maintained by the Single Market Observatory (SMO) of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). I am delighted that the ICF-EMCC Code of Conduct will serve as an example of best practices for alternative methods of regulation on the Self- and Co-Regulation Database of the EESC, said ICF President and Professional Certified Coach Ed Modell. This is an extraordinary achievement for the ICF, the EMCC, and the entire coaching profession. The Code establishes a set of guidelines as a benchmark for ethics and good practice in coaching and mentoring. It forms the basis for the development of self-regulation for the coaching and mentoring profession. It was drafted with regard to European law and is now listed on the dedicated European Union Self- and Co-Regulation Database. See http://www.eesc.europa.eu/self-and-coregulation/full.asp?w=n ID=142 This publicly accessible database is co-managed by the European Commission and the EESC and also includes codes of conduct for other professions such as the Council of Bar and Law Societies of Europe and the European Association for Psychotherapy. Being a part of the EESC's Self- and Co-Regulation Database allows us to further help practicing coaches and mentors conduct their business in a professional and ethical manner, said Gregoire Barrowcliff, EMCC's Vice President Regulatory Affairs. The inclusion of the code of conduct helps to promote public confidence in coaching and mentoring as a process for professional and personal development. The Code serves three primary goals: to guide the conduct of coaches and mentors; to inform clients; and to promote public confidence in coaching and mentoring as a process for professional and personal development. The ICF and EMCC have worked together over the years on various projects - all in the spirit of encouraging and supporting the growth and integrity of professional coaching worldwide. Joint efforts and discussions are centered on research, standards for coach-specific training programs, and individual credentials and regulatory items. The International Coach Federation is the leading global organization for coaches, with more than 4,500 members in Europe and nearly 18,000 members in more than 100 countries, dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high ethical standards, providing independent certification, and building a worldwide network of credentialed coaches. The ICF is the only organization that awards a global credential which is currently held by more than 7,900 coaches worldwide. The European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) has approximately 5,000 members in over

20 countries across Europe. The EMCC provides an entry into a community of coaches and mentors sharing high ethical values and professional skills. EMCC welcomes coaches and mentors, buyers of coaching as well as mentoring services, providers of coaching as well as mentoring training, plus everyone who simply has an interest in the field. 管理新知 您可能感兴趣的文章 HR总是被放鸽子?这4招轻松搞定!
